A recent series of reports has shown that Netflix is way, way larger than we thought before.
Comcast, otherwise known as the evil monopolistic TV company that most of America has, reported that they had 22,347,000 users at the end of 2015. Netflix publicly shared that they currently have 44,740,000 users, which is more than twice the amount of their rival cable giant company.
Comcast has a near monopoly on TV in certain areas, meaning their coverage areas would be centered around large areas nationally while Netflix has millions of users scattered around the US. The fact that Netflix is all online makes it easier for their millions of users to watch TV, even on the go.
What does this mean for the future of TV? Will we see big companies like Comcast and Time Warner go under while the masses start moving towards Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime? The future is here, and it comes with choices.
