Daniel Goldstein (aka Lane 8) has won over many people with his lush melodies and deep vibes in all of his tracks. Now he’s trying to change the way we interact with and enjoy live music, and it could take your live experience to the next level.

Lane 8 has launched a label and events brand called This Never Happened that aims to shift how we view events and live music. This Never Happened removes photos and phones from events to make the music and the people the focus of the night, just like it had been before everybody had an iPhone in their pocket.

On Facebook Lane 8 spoke freely about his new creation, saying that “We live at a time when distractions from reality are never further away than our fingertips. The possibilities of technology are endless, but they also limit the possibility…the possibility to truly experience and submit to the moment. Somewhere along the way, we as a society have lost the ability to experience those special moments. Sometimes, the best thing we can do is fully appreciate what is happening in that room, at that moment, with those people around us,”

He went on to say “At This Never Happened, we invite you into a space where the only thing that matters are the people in that room, the music and the magic that happens when those things interact. An event where the dance floor will be a phone and photo-free space.”

We couldn’t agree with your thoughts on technology and live events more Daniel. It’ll be interesting to see how people react to these distraction free events, maybe it’ll become the norm at events in the near future!
